General Information
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows is set in a place of profound silence and spirituality, shaped by the Marian apparitions of 1888. Between March 22nd and April 1st, the Virgin appeared to two local farmers, Fabiana Cicchino and Serafina Valentino, in a deeply moving vision that left a lasting impression on the community.
Initially met with doubt, the events soon attracted pilgrims from across Molise and beyond. Witnessed also by the Bishop of Bojano, Monsignor Francesco Macarone Palmieri, and followed by the first reported miracles, the apparitions inspired the creation of one of Italy’s most evocative sanctuaries—today a timeless and meaningful setting for weddings filled with beauty, faith, and emotion.
